Abstract:

The results of vehicle traffic measurements were
used to simulate the equivalent sound level of urban noise. The
Cnossos-EU model was used for this purpose. The traffic flow
was measured over the period between January and December
2013. The measurements were documented at one-hour
intervals throughout the entire 24 hours of the day (1:00-24:00).
The results of noise simulations were compared with the
equivalent sound level calculated by permanent automatic
sound and traffic volume monitoring station. The results
obtained for the data recorded on working days were compared.
The dispersion of the equivalent sound level was described using
the positional measures . The analysis consisted of the Jarque-
Bera and the Shapiro-Wilk tests for the recorded and calculated
data were conducted. The results indicated that in almost all
cases, the distribution of the tested variable was not normal. Box
plots were used to assess whether outliers data occurred in the
recorded results. The analysis of the recorded and calculated
data was performed for three time sub-intervals of a 24-hour
interval: day, evening, and night.
