In this paper the dynamic analysis of rod structures was considered. The influence of axial force on vibration was taken into account. The analysis was carried out in strict and approximate manner. The new qualitative matrix, in which occurs the coupling of the parameters including the conservative axial force uniform along the length of the rod and the parameter describing dynamic properties of the rod was used. Considerations have been carried out taking into account the impact of non-dilatational strain. (C) 2015 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
