Abstract:

Scenarios of transitions to chaos in dissipative dynamical systems are investigated. Three fundamental transitions to chaotic dynamics: period doubling, intermittency, and quasperiodic transition to chaos, were observed in many theoretical and experimental systems. There are several experimental systems in whichh all three fundamental transitions to chaos are present while most theoretical models are capable to exhibit one or two transitions to chaos only. A model system in which all three fundamental transitions to chaos are present is constructed and investigated. Theoretical predictions of the model are formulated and also new scenarios of transitions to chaotic dynamics are described.
