The potential gravel aggregate reactivity with alkalis was studied with three methods: a) according to Polish Standard PN-92/B-06714-46, b) according to American Standards ASTM C209-94 and c) ASTM C 1260. The results have shown, that according the first method the gravel can be ranked to potentially reactive aggregate, but the two method given in ASTM standard classify this gravel to the group of reactive aggregate. On the basis of petrographic examination the reactive components in the gravel are: quartz - glauconite sandstone, organo-dendritic, sparite - micrite limestone and metamorphous quartz - pyroxene shale with opal.
