The article presents the evaluation of tribological properties during lubrication polyalphaolefin 8 PAO8 without and with
carbon nanotubes. Tribological parameters were determined, namely the coefficient of friction and linear wear on the
TRB3 tester operating in a ball-on-disk sliding friction pair. The tests were carried out for HS6-52C steel disc with TiN
coating, which was in contact with 100Cr6 steel balls with DLC coating. The tests were conducted under lubricated
friction conditions with a PAO8 without and with carbon nanotubes. The coating structure observations were made using
a scanning microscope, and the analysis of the geometric structure of samples, before and after tribological tests were
performed, with an optical profile measurement gauge. The additive carbon nanotubes in PAO8 used in the tests
contributed to a reduction in the friction resistance and linear wear due to forming film.
