Abstract:

Current trends require a reduction in heat loss through the building casing. The newly designed objects are not a problem because the most common solution there is mechanical ventilation. However, in existing buildings the air pressure and thermomodernization works carried out include only warming baffles and changing the windows and doors. The heat reduction is associated with reduction or even blocking air flow into the inside of the building. Managers do not treat the building as a whole, ie. design along with technical equipment. The analyzes conducted show that in facilities where only the change consisted in laying a layer of thermal insulation on the walls or sealing flat roof which were associated with ventilation impaired operation. The amount of air flowing through the building was reduced and air quality deteriorated and mold on the wall occurred. Indoor air humidity increased, despite the lack of usage way change. Moreover, a higher amount of moisture occurred in areas where the only source of moisture is the people. The conclusion of the study is the need for a global view of the building. Sometimes it is sufficient to use another insulating material (allowing for air diffusion). However, there are situations in which you will need to use mechanical ventilation or hybrid to improve the air quality. This approach will help to reduce heat loss while maintaining thermal comfort and avoid sick building syndrome. Fresh air, free from pollution is vital for the healthy functioning of the human's environment where they spend most of the time. (C) 2016 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
