Abstract
A study of the behaviour of expansive cement pastes under shear in a rotational viscometer of the “Rheotest-2” type is described. Experiments were carried out to obtain information on the rheological properties of the pastes.
Two types of diagrams were obtained: shear rate-shear stress flow curves and apparent viscosity-shearing time curves. From these plots parameters related to the yield stress, minimum viscosity and apparent viscosity were evaluated. It is shown that the flow character of pastes is caused by both structural factors and rheological phenomena such as thixotropy and dilatancy.
