Reasumując opisane wyżej badania modelowe na wybranych barwnikach - zieleni naftolowej B, błękicie metylowym i mieszaninie obu barwników można stwierdzić, iż: węgiel aktywny Wdextra wykazał duże zdolności sorpcyjne, zastosowanie odczynnika Fentona do regeneracji pozwoliło na zachowanie zdolności sorpcyjnych węgla aktywnego, niekorzystnym zjawiskiem sorpcji na regenerowanym węglu jest ubytek masy sorbentu, sorpcja barwnika na węglu aktywnym nieznacznie zależy od pH roztworu.
Activated carbons are used for adsorption removal of colour, smell and taste, and other organic and inorganic contaminants from drinking water, as well as treatment of industrial wastewater (chemical industry, food, dying, pharmaceutical), to purify the air and in medicine to remove toxins and poisons and blood treatment. The effectiveness of adsorption of individual organic substances from aqueous solutions on active carbons depend on the molecular weight of the substance adsorbed, the solubility of the substance adsorbed, the polarity of the substance adsorbed, the type of functional groups in the adsorbed substance and on the surface of activated carbon. The aim of work was to estimate sorptive capacity of activated carbon in the removal of dyes, which are contaminants from textile wastewaters. Two dyes, methyle blue(C.I. 42780) and naphthol green B (C.I. 10020) were selected for studies, and activated carbon WD-extra, fresh and regenerated was selected as adsorbent. Used WD-extra carbon was regenerated with application of Fen-ton reagent. The sorption of clean naphthol green B (400 mg/L), clean methyl blue (200 mg/L) and mixture of both dyes (200 mg/L each) were conducted. The experimental data adsorption isotherms were defined and adsorption theoretical model such as Freundlich or Langmuir, was selected. Results of research allow to state that: WD-extra carbon show big sorptional abilities, application of Fentona reagent for regeneration allowe to maintain sorptional abilities of activated carbon, unfavourable phenomenon during sorption on regenerated carbon sorbent is its weight loss, sorption of dye on activated carbon slightly depends on pH of solution. The experimental data shows that activated carbon can be used for the sorption of dyes from textile wastewater. However, model tests need to be verified on real wastewater samples.
