Abstract:

One of the parameters to characterize the properties of satellite communication system is a dish efficiency, which relates to the power delivered to the antenna and the power radiated or dissipated within the antenna. A high efficiency antenna has most of the power supplied at the antenna's input radiated away. A low efficiency antenna absorbes most of the power as losses within it. This paper presents the influence of the antenna’s receiver efficiency on the quality of satellite signal.
