In this study, the effects of the oxygen content and degree of long-range order on microstructure, electrical and mechanical properties of sintered Fe-50 wt.% Co material were investigated. The specimens were made by means of hot pressing. Some of them were afterwards subjected to a disordering treatment. The specimens were tested for density, electrical resistivity, hardness, bending strength and impact strength determination, they were analysed for oxygen content, and subjected to X-ray diffraction and metallographic examinations. It has been observed that oxygen has a direct bearing on grain growth during hot pressing of the material which, apparently, showed tendency to ordering on cooling-down after densification.
