Abstract:

In the article presented results of experimental study of fracture toughness for the SEN(B) specimens without and with the modelled delamination crack. On the basis of the determined stress distributions in front of the crack, for the standard specimens and with delamination crack, computed triaxiality stress state parameters in front of the main crack. The computations were carried out for the standard specimen and for the specimens with three lengths of delamination cracking. It showed that the growth of delamination cracking length decreases the average stress level in front of the crack, and the triaxilaity stress state parameters 3R i T-z, leading to the increase of fracture toughness.
