Abstract:

The paper focuses on the influence of tec
hnology and atmosphere on the strength of fi
berglass-reinforced polymer-matrix composi
te
materials. Two technologies
were analyzed: RIM (Resin Infusion Molding) and RTM
(
Resin Transfer Molding). The strength was
modeled for different operating conditions and different fiber or
ientations. Other physical and
mechanical properties of a poly
mer-
matrix composite were also studied.
