Abstract:

The paper presents the issue of heat transfer augmentation in phase-change heat exchangers with the use of microstructural coatings. Basing on the presented boiling heat transfer test results it can be concluded that the application of special coatings on heat exchanging surfaces can lead to a significant improvement in heat flux. As a result, higher heat fluxes can be dissipated at the same temperature difference. Consequently, such heat exchangers installed e.g. in vehicles can be more efficient.
