The technological development of production forces the need for continuous development of measurement systems. Modern production technologies such as Rapid Prototyping require specialized measurement systems. Additive technologies allow to manufacture parts with a complex geometry. Geometry measurement of such models by traditional methods is problematic or impossible to perform. The selection of an appropriate method of measurement is influenced by many factors: required accuracy, type of the object being measured (size, material, surface) and place of measurement. Multisensory Coordinate Measuring Machine (ang.CMM) use a combination of different types of measurement sensors such as: tactile sensors, tactile-optical sensors, laser sensors, cameras processing the image, and optical sensors. Complex measurement tasks often require the use of several types of sensors to measure the same object.
