Streszczenie:

Przedstawiono wyniki badań wpływu warunków dojrzewania na ekspansję zapraw o różnej zawartości siarczanów, z dodatkiem opalu, zgodnie z ASTM C227. Wykazano, że przemienne ogrzewanie zapraw w temperaturze 82°C i gwałtowne chłodzenie w wodzie w 20°C sprzyjają destrukcji próbek o dużej zawartości siarczanów, spowodowanej opóżnionym powstawaniem ettringitu. Całkowitą ekspansję zapraw powoduje również reakcja opalu z alkaliami, potwierdzoną obecnością uwodnionego żelu krzemianu potasowo-wapniowego w miejscach częściowo przereagowanych ziaren tego minerału. Dojrzewanie próbek w powietrzu w temperaturze 38°C i WW > 95% zwiększa ekspansję spowodowaną przemianą opalu w stosunku do metody Duggana, prawdopodobnie na skutek braku mikrorys w próbkach zaprawy. W tych warunkach nie występuje jednak opóżnione powstawanie ettringitu.

Abstract:

The results of investigation of the curing condition effect upon the mortars expansion with different sulphates content and with opal addition, according to ASTM C227. It was shown that changeable heating of the mortars at 82°C and quick cooling in water at 20°C enhance of samples destruction with high sulphates content, caused by delayed ettringite formation. Overall mortars expansion is caused also by the opal reaction with alkalis, confirmed by the presence of hydrated potassium-calcium silicate gel surrounding partially reacted grains of this mineral. Curing of the samples in the air at 38°C and> 98 RH increased the expansion Iinked with opal reaction in comparison to Duggan method, probably because of the lack of microcracks in the mortar samples. In this condition the delayed ettringite formation did not occur.
